Why You Should Learn Better Copy Writing Right Now!

By Admin · March 11, 2009 · Filed in Copywriting · No Comments »

The number one reason you should is because you’re costing yourself so much money! If you have to hire a professional copywriter, it is going to cost you a bundle and you’ll have to wait around until they finish their back-log of current clients, which could take them months.

Who wants to wait that long to start raking in money? I sure as heck don’t!

You are also costing yourself money because a higher conversion rate equals more sales, which in turn equals more money. There are a lot of things that go into a successful launch.

Having a great product, getting targeted traffic, having a bunch of affiliates etc., but one of the most important things is to have a high converting sales page. So many people focus on getting more targeted traffic and getting more affiliates and that is all well and good, but they forget about improving their sales page.

Lets say that you’re sending 100 people a day to your sales page without any affiliates. Lets also say that you’re selling a $47 product. If you’re converting at 1%, you’re only making $47 a day, which is probably less minus transaction fees or by what you may pay for advertising. Not very attractive, to say the least.

There are some other problems. I don’t think that very many affiliates will want to promote a sales page that is converting at the percentage and price, even if you’re offering a good percentage of the sale.

Another problem is that you can get more traffic to your sales page, but that will either take more money or a lot more time. Spending more money on pay-per click advertising on a poor converting sales page can get you broke in a hurry.

One thing that is free and may not take much time or effort is to improve your sales page. Just think if you can improve your conversion rate from 1% to 2%. You can double your sales without spending a dime. You can also spend more money promoting your product and attract more affiliates at the same time.

People will tell me, yeah but, you have to completely scrap the sales page and rewrite everything. That is far from the truth in a lot of cases. A small change to a vital part of your sales page can be huge.

Maybe just changing your main headline will greatly increase your conversion rate. If you can’t get their interest initially, you’ll never get it at all. Maybe you have no social proof or poor testimonials, maybe you just don’t close hard enough or provide enough ease in the transaction process. All factors that can determine the success or failure of your sales page.

Reasons Why People Fail with Adwords

By Admin · March 10, 2009 · Filed in Adwords, pay per click · No Comments »

I think one problem that adwords users make is they stop using the service too quickly. They either rushed in without doing enough research and didn’t really have a plan and they got out.

They might not of been setting their daily budgets and the expenses got to be too much. You have to have them set, especially when you first start out and are in the testing phase.

Another problem is they skipped what I just mentioned, a testing phase. They just jumped right in with both feet and didn’t test anything. They didn’t test their ads, they didn’t test different keyword phrases, they didn’t test different prices on their bids etc.

Another problem that some people have is they don’t have a daily budget in place. They don’t really know how much they can spend, in order to, turn a profit. They also don’t have any idea how their sales page converts.

Another problem that people have is that they are promoting something that people don’t want to buy. Either their product or an affiliates product. It just won’t sell no matter how you promote it.

Another problem people have is that the product that they are promoting is just too cheap. Someone trying to turn a profit on adwords when they are selling a $7 product, just isn’t going to fly unless you have them signing up for your list and have an upsell.

Another problem people have is that they don’t put in enough time and effort. That can be said about a lot of things when it comes to making money online, but it is especially true when it comes to adwords.

The traffic is almost instant and the potential is through the roof, but you have to put in some time and effort. You can’t just slap together an ad and put it on a couple of keyword phrases and not monitor it and expect all this money to come flowing in.
You have to research and you have to test. Those are the two keys to success with adwords. Research and test. If you’re willing to do both of those things then you can have all kinds of success with adwords, if not, you don’t really have a chance at all.

Adjusting Your Marketing Strategy with Digg and Stumple Upon Traffic

By Admin · March 9, 2009 · Filed in Web 2.0 · No Comments »

I’ve seen this scenario over and over again. I’ve coached and helped a lot of people make money online. I’ve helped countless strangers on Internet Marketing forums and through my e-mail address, get traffic to their websites and blogs.

The first problem that they have is that they can’t get any traffic. Then, when they get traffic, it doesn’t convert to their liking or they just proclaim the traffic worthless, because it doesn’t convert how they want it to.

There are two main ways to help your traffic convert better. The first is to change your source and how you draw that source in and market to them before they visit your site or sales page.

Once you have that figured out, it is up to you to improve how you market to that traffic. The first thing that you have to figure out is the objective that you have and want to achieve.

Do you want to sell them a high-ticket item?

Are you promoting affiliate products?

Are you just worried about building your mailing list?

If you’re trying to sell a high-ticket item or e-book, you better have a pre-selling process or your conversion rate is going to really suffer. Yeah, you can have a great sales page, but if don’t pre-sell them, your conversion rate will suffer.

If you’re promoting an affiliate product, you better provide some information on that product and have some type of pre-selling process. You don’t want to introduce them to the product, completely blind.

If you’re giving away a free product, in order to, build your list. You still have to pre-sell them, it might not take much, since it is free, but it still takes an effort.

Don’t just sit there with a first name and e-mail boxes and say sign up and get a newsletter. What newsletter? Tell us about it. If you’re giving away assets, tell them about it. Tell them that it is free and it is of great quality and that you want to get that to them as quickly as possible.

Developing a Cult Like Following Online

By Admin · March 6, 2009 · Filed in Internet Marketing · No Comments »

Gurus usually have a large following. Most of us aren’t gurus, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t develop a good relationship with a group of people that will follow you and support you and your online business.

There are many ways of doing this. One way is to make really wonderful posts on Internet forums. If people see that you’re helping people and have interesting things to say, they will want to read more of what you have to say and may click on a link in your signature file.

Another way to do this is to obviously have a blog. This is a great way to develop relationships and to gather a following. They can subscribe to your blog and get updates when you make a new post, so it is a great way to develop a following.

Another way is to come out with new products. People obviously won’t continue to buy them if they aren’t good, but that is another way to develop a following and make some good money, along the way, while building that following.

Another way is to create videos and maybe putting them up on youtube. People like video and if you give them good information on these videos, you can really develop a following.

Another way to do this is to set up a group on Myspace or Facebook and invite people to join. You can start a group and have some good content on that group. People like to join groups and interact with not only you, but also with other members.

Building a mailing list is also another good way to develop a following. You can really build that relationship with them, over time. If you give them good content, word of mouth advertising can also help build your list.

So, as you can see, there isn’t a shortage on the ways that you can develop that following. Go ahead and try them and see what works best for you, it is usually a combination of a few of these strategies. It is just up to you to go out and do it.

Making Money with Others Online

By Admin · March 5, 2009 · Filed in Joint Ventures · No Comments »

Teaming up with other people to accomplish the same goal can be a great thing. In this case we’re looking to team up with people who want to make money online.

The first thing that you want to do is to find people who you can trust. That is the most important thing. Are they going to put the work in? Are they going to do what they say? Are they going to get things done on time?

You wan to find people that can do this. The problem is that a lot of people don’t team up with other people online because they don’t think that they can trust anyone online. That simply isn’t the case.

Yes there are good people online and there are people that you can trust. The reason why people can’t find people to work with is because they don’t build relationships with people online.

They just don’t put in the time or effort. It’s not that hard to send someone an e-mail and get to know them. Try and find people that have a great reputation, find people that have worked with someone before and see what they say about this person.

Go to Internet Marketing forums. There are plenty of people to work with on there. You can find people to do joint ventures on any number of projects. I’ve started a membership site with a partner before. I’ve worked with people with mailing lists and vice versa etc.

I always try and get to know these people before I approach them with a business venture. I want to get to know them and find out about their online business and what their strengths are and what their background and experience is.

They may be customers of mine, they may be strangers, but I have gotten to know them and have heard great things about them. It’s all about putting in a little time and effort and finding the right people to work with.

The people that make the big money online rely on other people to help them make money online. There is only so much time in a day, but if you get a few people working with you, you can maximize your time and effort and play off each others strengths. If you’re weak in one area, then find someone who is strong in that area, to work with.

How to Make a Fortune Promoting Other People’s Products

There must be a reason why some affiliates succeed and some fail, a reason why some affiliates profit moderately and some affiliates profit substantially.

There must be a reason.

There is.

And that reason is this: “super” affiliates start, sustain and strengthen relationships with subscribers.

It begins and ends with a list. Even a small one can be a powerful, profitable mechanism if you follow these 7 guidelines…

1. CAPTURE THE OPTIN FIRST.

Instead of sending traffic directly to your affiliate link, send them to YOUR site where you offer some kind of list for them to join. (Hint: Mini-course works best) Once you have them on a list, they become an asset. If you send them directly to an affiliate page and they don’t buy, they’re gone forever. On your list, you can follow-up with them indefinitely.

Note: You can even redirect them to your affiliate link AFTER they join your list, effectively getting them there you wanted them to go in the first place.

2. DIFFERENTIATE THE OFFER.

Instead of sending out the same, tired, lame advertisement that every other affiliate in the world sends out, write your own. Trust me when I say that many people find it OFFENSIVE when they receive two dozens duplicate emails from two dozen list owners all promoting the exact same thing in the exact same way. And even if they don’t find it offensive, it’s not as effective if you simply rinse and repeat what everyone else is doing.

Hint: Here’s how you differentiate…

3. SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE.

Nothing – nothing – nothing speaks louder than RESULTS. If you want to lose a few pounds, who do you turn to? Someone who is still struggling with their own weight or someone you’ve seen drop 35 pounds? Exactly.

The way you make your mailings / ads different is you speak from your own personal experience. This product or service that you are promoting as an affiliate, how has it been useful to you personally? What results have you personally achieved? When you used it, what happened?

Note: If you haven’t personally used the product, then shame on you for trying to make a quick buck from it hocking it to others!

4. OFFER A COMPELLING INCENTIVE.

Another way to be different – and to dramatically increase your chances of getting a sale as an affiliate – is to offer some kind of compelling incentive if someone buys the offer through YOUR referral link. Whether it’s a special report or access to an audio recording, personalized consultation or advertising, a private training call or existing products and services, this can be a highly effective method of converting fence-setters into paying customers.

In order for it to work well, it must be UNIQUE (I.E. You’re the only one making the offer) and USEFUL (I.E. Something of great perceived value to the reader).

Note: Don’t have anything to offer? Don’t worry! There are many ways to easily obtain extra incentives: conduct an interview, hire a ghostwriter to create articles / reports for you, buy reprint rights to other products, assemble a bunch of free articles and other resources into a private access site, etc.

5. LOOK FOR RESIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES.

Rather than exhaust your efforts on purchases that give you a one-time commission, why not make the most of your marketing by looking firstly for offers that pay out ONGOING monthly commissions for your referred sales?

There are many different residual income generating services such as membership sites (ranging from PT Cruisers to weight loss), stock photos and clipart, hosting, autoresponders, databases (from hiking trails to sermon outlines) online magazines and a variety of other subscription based opportunities that reward you with monthly recurring commissions.

While you definitely want a mix of types of affiliate programs to promote, your priority should be in identifying and promoting those services and programs that will pay you month after month, instead of only one time.

6. BUILD A SALES ARMY.

One of the biggest untapped sources of income in any list is that of “turning subscribers into partners”. In other words, find those on your list who are interested in making money and provide them with training and materials to promote affiliate programs as well.

This has a two-fold advantage for YOU:

* First, if you find 2-tier affiliate programs, you can get your subscribers to join the program through your referral. Anytime they get a sale, you’ll earn a commission as well. You effectively get free commissions from their effort.

* Secondly, you can use their efforts to build your own assets. For example: If you provide them with a 10-page report to give away to promote their affiliate link, you can include a page in the report promoting YOUR list! You effectively get free subscribers from their effort.

7. MONETIZE FOR MULTIPLE STREAMS.

As your own list continues to grow, you certainly want to diversify in your offerings. (Not to the point of bombarding your list with offers every day of course!)

* Promote other affiliate programs.
* Create your own products.
(Even short $10 reports will earn profit!)
* Establish joint ventures.
* Co-author products.
* Cross promote.
* Conduct surveys.

There are MANY ways to make money from you list and keep your list growing, growing, growing!

Remember, it all comes down to: starting, sustaining and strengthening relationships with subscribers.

And that’s how you make a fortune as an affiliate promoting other people’s products.

Reasons You Should Use WordPress to Blog

By Admin · March 2, 2009 · Filed in Blogging · No Comments »

The first reason and the most important reason is simply freedom. One thing that I hate in life is if I feel like I’m really being limited by something. I like to be able to do all the things that I want to do and be able to think outside the box and get creative.

You have the freedom to do so much with your blog and you just have so many different ways to customize your blog. From the way that you run your blog, to the way that you make your blog look to all of the different plugins that you can use to get more traffic, automate and do just about anything that you can think of to improve your blogging experience.

There are just so many different WordPress themes that you can pick from. I literally looked at hundreds and hundreds of different themes before I choose the one that I want. Then after you pick the theme, you can do so much to customize and change anything that you don’t like about the theme.

Another reason why I like WordPress is yes it can seem pretty complex when you start out, but that is because it gives you so many options. Once you learn how to use it, it gets way easier. The best way to learn how to use WordPress is to look at video tutorials.

You can find tutorials on WordPress, but you can also search the web and find video tutorials on how to do certain activities on WordPress. Video tutorials are great because you can actually see what a person is doing, step-by-step and visually see things.

It seems really daunting because there are so many things to utilize and so many different links to click on. The best way is to just learn what you need to use first.

Well, that sounds obvious, but some people will try to learn every feature, right from the start. You might not need or use all of the features, so just learn what you are going to use. I use a lot of features on WordPress, but I still don’t use them all. I just use the ones that I need.

WordPress is well worth the extra time that you will put into learning it. You get the freedom to do just about anything that you want. If you aren’t using WordPress, I would definitely check it out for yourself.

Internet Marketers Resist the Temptations

By Admin · March 1, 2009 · Filed in Internet Marketing · No Comments »

Internet Marketers have a lot of temptations. We spend all day on the computer and there are plenty of temptations on there. You have access to pretty much everything online.

It’s tough for me because I have so many hobbies and interests. I love sports, film, music, video games etc. Well, all of those things are only a few clicks away.

I can go to ESPN and check sports scores and read dozens of articles. I can go download about any song that I want. I can go buy or download any game that I want.

That’s a lot of temptations and I know that I shouldn’t be doing those things when it isn’t my free time. A person needs to focus on their project and get it done.

I still find myself cheating a little and going to these websites when I should be working, but I’m getting a lot better. One thing that I do is not let my mind get restless.

Don’t give yourself time to think about the outside world. I just focus on my work and don’t think about anything else until it’s done for the day. I block everything else out.

The Internet is not the only temptation. Since we work at home we have the normal home life distractions. They are different for every person, but everyone has plenty of them.

What I do is get up in the morning and tell my girlfriend that I’m going down stairs to my office and no distractions unless it’s important. No phones calls or nothing unless it’s important.

I basically lock myself in my office and get to work. I come up and eat lunch and that is my break time. Then I go back down to my office until later on in the afternoon. If I have any errands to run, then I go ahead and get them done.

After that I eat and usually have the night to do what I want, relax etc. Unless I’m really busy and I have to keep updating something online. I find that by cutting out the distractions I not only get more work done, but I have more time to play and relax.

When I used to get distracted during work, I would go to a website. I would say to myself, oh just a few minutes. Well that few minutes would snowball into an hour. I started to lose a lot of time on just useless distractions. Keep focused people, it will really pay off in the long run.
